Much like with a sex offender registry, there are crimes that are classified as "Sex crimes" that bear little to no resemblance to the true menaces of society.
Maybe it's urban legend, feel free to correct me, but urinating in public can often be classified as a sex offense. Not that we should encourage urination in public, but depending on the situation, it's hardly as heinous as child pornography or molestation.
Yep. I know a guy that was at a party, left, and since the street was totally dark with no street lights, he pee'd at his vehicle. What he didn't know was that a neighbor was on her porch after calling LEO to report loud music. They rolled up before he could leave. She pointed out the wet spot in the street, and he spent 10 years as a convicted sex offender even though his back was to her.
Finally got enough money to go back to court, and got off the list.
