Thats why I have a Mac. Avoids a lot of problems.
Yeah, I need more info on this. My laptop has mcaffee, but like the article stated, the malware disables your protection. Getting home last night, I noticed the mcaffe icon was gone from the tool bar.
Except that 1 in 5 Macs are infected with malware.

Vs an estimated 50 percent or 11 million windows pc's worldwide. Also note that these are macs harboring not infected witf in other words they have a file that contains windows executable code that does nothing on the mac. Good try.
Except for the Flashback trojan....
Mac, Windows, or Linux: all can get infected if you're not careful out there and don't keep current on antivirus and updates.
Even after restarting? McAfee craps out a lot. A LOT. So sometimes it will really be running, but the service that shows the icon isn't running.
Certainly something to look in to, but not something to have a government web site or the Geek Squad look at ;-)
