Internet shooting match planned.

Some of us over on the Mythbusters forum have come up with a new "postal match". Rules:

Draw a circle, square, triangle, pentagram or whatever, size doesn't really matter. Put an X in the target. Fire five shots, then measure the distance from the center of the X to the center of each bullet hole. Total the distances. That is your score. Lowest score wins. Photograph the target and send it to me. I'll forward it to the match moderator. Here's the distances for pistols and rifles:

Handguns, any caliber, at 20 yards, offhand, (using both hands, O.K.,) open sights, 5 shots.

Rifles, any caliber, at 50 yards, offhand, open sights, 5 shots.

You've got to Labor Day to submit your results.

Seems like you'd need to video tape the actual shooting to ensure fair play.

That does sound like fun but I do suck at offhand shooting. I'm going to give it a try though.

Note: there is no category for blackpowder, just open sighted handguns, revolver or semi. And open sighted rifles. I just chose to shoot this pistol. I'll probably do an entry with my Woodsman later on.

Niner, we'll just take everyone's word for it. Nothing to win but bragging rights anyway. If the winner drove away in a pink Cadillac, then we'd probably be a little more strict.
