We went there one weekend but the flats were closed. There are some amazing clusters of the crystals at the headquarters building.

I just booked a campsite at Salt Plains State Park (Sandy Beach) 27-30 May. There are still a number of sites available. ($34/night military with electricity) Let me know if any of you want to meet up.

I can’t say at this point if I’ll be up there that weekend, but my house isn’t too far from the state park. I’ll PM you if I’m going to be there, and maybe we can meet up.

Now if it only had diamonds like the park in AR.
Possibly some missed, abandoned mustard gas training containers but no diamonds lol.
I have a cluster slightly larger than a football. Anyone have any idea what it's worth? Pics forthcoming...
That reminds me of the time an Army demo team detonated some C4 next to some of those training containers that were found out there, probably 15 years ago (?) The Refuge manager at the time told me they were half a mile away on the flats, but he still felt the shock wave in the air.
Not sure on the value of the clusters. My daughter had a teacher that had one in a classroom that was about largest I've seen. It was about 15" long by 8" wide, and 8" tall. It got knocked off of a shelf at some point I heard, and it's no longer those dimensions lol.
