I retired in 2007. Twenty eight years and five months on the job. Between medical issues and city politics that rolled downhill till it hit me on the job. I didn’t reach my goal of a thirty year pin.

I hate the job and I will draw my pension and work somewhere else, easily increasing my income by an estimated $50k a year. All that will go into my retirement mutual funds to play catch up after having to start over on that after my divorce. And I dont have a honey so no to do list but my own lol I'm only 50 but have a few new disabilitiesso I may end up designing highways again at a consulting firm. Already got one asking me to join their team. Also considering buying a bar. lolDon't be too anxious to retire. Once you do, you'll find yourself busier than before! The honey-do list will both astound and intimidate you. Ask me. I know. Been "retired" for 8 years now.

I dont have any friends left here, they all retired already lolWhen you retire, all those "Friends" at work will suddenly disappear. And they said they'd call...Ha!
yeah, I'll have 29 years and the politics in this place make it really hard to leave my recliner each morning when I"m having coffee and watching the news. But I do...I retired in 2007. What do you do that requires 40 some years?Man I wish! Feels like I've been doing this career for at least 50 years, but it's only been 33. LOL
Yep, I want to be on a new property with my new (soon) wife to be and the list of busy stuff will be long then. Im stuck in transition in the city now to be close to my ailing parents and take care of them in their last years or year maybe.I retired 4 years ago. I got all the things done that needed done on the property, done what needed to be done to the home(Wifes list).
It seems like only a couple years ago that I retired. Time will fly by. Enjoy your retirement, do what you like to do and just enjoy life.
Im sure your parents will appreciate that very much. Good luck to you.Yep, I want to be on a new property with my new (soon) wife to be and the list of busy stuff will be long then.
