just rescued an LC Smith double barrel 12 ga shotgun.
does anyone know anything about LC Smith shotguns?

stored in an attic the last 35+ years. rust all over but still operating smoothly. triggers still release at a crisp 2lb 15oz.

leather covered butt cushion is toast... front sights are gone.
stored in a neat old leather scabbard.

another double barrel 12ga that I also purchased was stored in a cloth pouch next to the LC Smith. it came out in great original condition with small patches of rust. can't help but think for long term storage, a bag that breaths is better.

looks like I've got a project ahead....

Why can't I ever find cool stuff like this?

That old gun looks to actually be in pretty darn good shape. Get some kroil, a bunch of soft towels and don't get in ANY hurry. It'll make that rust go away but leave what's left of the finish. It'll take some time but it appears you'll have a very fine old shotgun.
