I was underwhelmed by the SMG version I shot. VFG is required or your hand interferes with the mag release and bolt catch. I can think of lots of stuff I'd rather have for $1700.

You could also SBR a pistol like a glock or xd and buy the caa roni. Be into the whole thing, with stamp, for right around $1k. I'm personally a fan of the mp5's, but just thought I would add some other options.

This. You're approaching MP5 clone territory with the Kriss and there are limited goodies for the Kriss (as well as limited support since its such a unique gun).

Have you looked at a Bellator Arms BA89k? You could buy one of those and register as an SBR, so you can add a stock.

It seems like H&H had one that you could rent. But I haven't been in there in awhile, so I am not sure.
