No need for water. In my mind that time in the flame was NOT long enough.
Those cases were dirty/off colored looking around the neck already.

Not bustin your chops just the dude on the video.

Use a heat indicator fluid like tempilaq or use the Sharpie marker to make sure you got the heat up enough.
I have used both heat indicators back to back and the Sharpie is spot on with tempilaq and easier to see fade.

But yes in the video that is basically how you do it.

Here are the lock base projectiles. They have little tails.

After you shoot them and compare with other bullets you will find out if they are better in flight or not.
I have no idea on those because I never shot any of them.
The BC for that weight of a bullet is sad but if they work well I would not argue with BC.

Kind of like the sierra HPBT 165 gr. #2140 with a .363 BC.
Horrible BC but that bullet shoots ridiculous accurate and flatter than the BC suggests and kills extremely well.

I’ve been shooting them for a couple years.
I also shoot sierra matchking 168gr hpbt.
These are extremely accurate.
The only thing with 168gr, I kept getting a random flyer. Not very often.
Not sure if it was something I was doing or else.

The lock base has tightened up my group’s significantly. No flyers. Same brass and prep. The pic is last time I shot the 168gr. 5 shot group, 1 flyer. A penny with cover the 4 shots.
Hopefully Friday I’ll get to the range. I’ll show get a pic of what the lock base produce.

Have you shot them farther than 100 yards?
Does the group hold together well ?

Your gun seems to respond well to those.
I have shot both out to 800 yards on steel only. The only place I can go for paper is in Lexington wildlife management range.
The long range steel is foul bore precision south of Chickasha.
Is there a range that goes out further than 100 yards for paper?
I used to have family land I would go to,
We don’t talk anymore.
