I have an idea.
And I am floating this idea on the FGST thread to get your feedback, and because I think as a group we can help each other.
Many of us are familiar with phone trees and/or text trees. I know that we have an ammo siting thread in general, but I want to try something more specific.
An ammo/magazine/components text alert.
It would involve us swapping cell phone numbers and assuming that no one will abuse the privilege.
Anyone that does abuse the sanctity of the group will have to have their "short and curlies" dry shaved at the next lunch and spread with bengay by a couple of gay sumo wrestlers who have been in isolation for 6 months and fed a steady diet of viagra.
So, here is my idea (and we can fine tune it as we go).
Anyone that wants to participate can swap their cell numbers with other members of the group and maybe an idea of what you are looking for.
Admit it, we all hit WalMart every chance we get, but by the time we get home and think about posting on the ammo thread, anything we see might be gone.
If we send out a text alert as to what we see, it can alert the rest of us to rush right over and pick up what we need. Or, we can text the member and have them pick up some items for us with the assurance that they will be reimbursed. Anyone welching on the "get me some" will suffer the same fate described above.
So, what do you guys think?

Great idea, but my phone is just a phone...
But I would have no problem with calling a guy that has the means to alert the rest of us. Generally speaking, I can cover snooty wal-mart most mornings during the work week...
I'm game. Dave and Billy already have my cell number and I have theirs. How do you want to set up a list of what folks are looking for?
