Late to the party, but this DW290 has had certified beater status for the last 20 years or so. Was my daily until I got a G-Shock. It's had cutting slag on the crystal, all manner of solvents, lubricants, paints, and stains on every surface, a new strap, two battery changes, and a new gasket last year. I expect it will be good for another 20 years.

I bought this watch years ago. I wore it as a dress watch. It’s not keeping time now. I got where I couldn’t trust anyone to put a battery in it. So it lays in the butler drawer, Do you folks no anyone I could trust.

Trust yourself... batteries are cheap and extremely easy to replace.

Is it a notch back that requires a tool? If so, harbor freight sells the adjustable tool for watches
