In okc area, I have a hard time tightening the barrel to spec and align with the next hole, using only the lower vise block. I needed the upper block!
In okc area, I have a hard time tightening the barrel to spec and align with the next hole, using only the lower vise block. I needed the upper block!
It's definitely doable with just lower vise block. I've put something like 75 ft lbs with one of those on a barrel nut.
Three important questions:
1. Is the vise heavy and securely attached to something that's also very heavy or securely attached to the floor so nothing gives?
No, small 4" vise, clamped to dinning room table.
2. Are you using a torque wrench?
yes.
3. Are you using moly grease on the threads?
yes
