Hey guys getting a rifle built to the point that i need to start looking at what optic to mount up on here. I comes down to a Leupold MR/T 2.5-8x36 M2 or a Nightforce 2.5-10x32. Both are great optics no question there, but what one to go with. The Night force is about 450.00 over the Leupold, but it does have more bells and whistles. With the NF i like the NP-R2 reticale or the trusty Mil-Dot. Leupold id have to go with the Mil-Dot over the TMR. i think the hash marks are alittle small to read quickly. NF has ZeroStop and either .25 MOA or .10 Mil dials. Leupold .5 MOA with the M2 Dials. Both are first plane reticles so they will range in any magnification. Both 30mm tubes and about the same size objective lense. Will be mounted in ARMS 22H rings or LaRue SPR mount. Let hear what you think guys. Thanks

--This is what i priced out:--
Nightforce 2.5-10x32
-NP-R2 Ill. Reticle
-ZeroStop
-.25MOA or .10Mil dials
-$1550.00

Leupold MT/T 2.5-8x36
-Mil-Dot Ill. Reticle
-M1=.25MOA, M2=.5MOA, M3=1MOA dials
-$1200.00

This is what it will be going on.

Leupold is supposedly coming out with a new 1.1-8 with glass that rivals Schmidt & Bender. You might look it up before dropping the coin.

do you know what objective its going to have or what the model they are going to designate it as? may have to look into it.

Really just heard about it and don't have specs, just that it was very impressive. Other than that I have no additional info. A 1.1-8 magnification range would be sweet though....

the 1.1-8 would work really nice on my rifle. All i need is something to take it to 600yd if needed. The only reason i may still go with the MR/T or NF is that it would hold true to my MK12 Mod1'ish clone.

I have the Nightforce 2.5-10x24 mrad zerostop and its pretty awesome. They are not FFP scopes though. You have to step up to the F1 model to get FFP in a Nightforce.

Is the Leupold the one that 34mm tube? You might look at IOR they have a FFP 2.5-10 42mm with the MP8 reticle I think you can find it for less that $1400
