looking for 204 bullet recommendations

Like the title says. I'm looking for feedback on bullet's for my newest addition. Savage 12VF in 204 ruger. Mainly for coyote. Looking for something that will penetrate and not come apart on impact.

Two hunting buddies use the .204 for varmints on occasion, they've tried the Bergers and Noslers, sometimes they do well, sometimes they explode. Lot's of velocity to deal with, sounded like no two shots were comparable. You'll see a 100 different recommendations on the web when search too.

I shoot both the berger and the varmint grenade. My savage doesn't like anything heavier than about 40 grains. 34's are my best weight for what I have been able to find. They do really bad things to coyotes. I really think I get a little better performance out of the bergers. Hope that helps.. Jim

A Whitetail at 252 yards.

Thank you for the info, To bad that load wouldn't be legal here in OK for deer due to bullet weight. I have some 35gr Berger Match Varmint bullets on order to test out.

I think you will like the Berger match varmints, My best powder for that has been AA-2015 with AA-2230 close behind.
