I placed one of my cameras on a creek crossing (its usually dry) just to see what may happen to walk by. The time is way off on my camera, its about 2am when these were taken. The one time I wish I would have set the camera to record...

I placed a camera in a similar creek crossing back in early September. I was surprised to see our resident mascot doe, Cotton Top, lying in the shallow water on the pea gravel with her fawns. The water was no more than an inch deep on that gravel, if that, but I guess with it being in the shade and the water trickling through the gravel, it made it a cool spot for them in the heat. They would lay there for several hours in the heat of the day, almost every day until the heat broke.
