Maybe, maybe not. Lol its never to late. Being rearsenaled wouldnt make them any less a 1903 just probably mixmasters that have been rebarreled. An A3 is essentially the same rifle but different all at the same time (sights, stamped parts, different stock etc) and made by Remington and Smith-Corona.

Your are about 80 years too late , all would have been updated to A3 by 1941, any you might find "Billed as just 1903" are DIY reworks ,as by the time the Gov surplused them they would be A3

?????

I think you are confused between the A1 and A3 designation. Even at that, there are plenty of pre-A1 configurations rifles floating around.
