Boydsgunstocks.com makes some fine quality replacements. I have a thumbhole on mine.

I love my Marlin 60. Bought a speed loader from Cheaper Than Dirt that holds enough ammo for me to shoot for a good while. The 10/22 is fun also, but I sure like the Marlin.

I have made this rifle a priority in my armory. (armory lmfao) I have spent lots of time and energy bringing it to a more appropriate appearance for my tastes. I am not trying to win any awards. I am not making it a craptical rifle. I am just making a good working rifle that I can bump around and not worry about. I am adding a sling set up and modding the sights for faster acquisition. I love my 60. so much so I am looking in to getting a second. I mean they are cheap enough. Wal Mart has them for 157.00. Thats a great price for a simple reliable woods/ truck/ BOB/ plinker rifle.
