I remember the lean years when we didn't have very many presents and one year we were going to have Christmas without a tree. It weighed on me pretty badly. I couldn't disappoint them though. I sold some things and went Christmas Eve to the hardware store to get a cut tree. The store had one left and just gave it to me. The look on the kid's faces when they saw me with that tree on top of the car was priceless.
I gave that store all my business when I could.
