Doing some crude market research, thanks for your input everyone. What do you look for when purchasing a backpack?
Durability, fit, and functionality. Oh yeah, and something that doesn't look like yer kids would carry it to grade school.
I'd like to add intelligent design and features, and air flow between the pack and body where possible.
All of the above but would add being offered in some muted colors and have a design that doesn't scream tactical. Something very comfortable and functional, but doesn't attract a lot of unwanted attention.
Verstilty storage capacity. Ease of use and accesabilty of pockets. I am coming from a law enforcement military aplication aspect. More of an active shooter response bag angle.
I recomend looking here, they have everything I look in a pack and associated equipment. I have yet to find any company make a better or more versitile pack than Kifaru. My experience has been with the X Ray and Express with E & E.

The Rhino is the heat when it comes to rucks. Pricy, but worth every penny. I have some of their gear. Bombproof.
I have multiple packs for different "missions". Camping and BOB stay loaded and are 72 hour packs. Everyday bag has a holster in a mid compartment and room for a small Dell notebook. Guess what I am saying is I use different bags for different jobs...
