What? He was one of my favorites. Always a respectable hitter and one of the true "franchise" players out there spending his entire 19 year MLB career with only ONE team - the San Diego Padres. I consider him one of the last of his kind.

I reckon he was the trifecta...early last week it was Ann B. Davis, over the weekend it was Casey Kasem and now Tony.

RIP Mr. Gwynn.

One of my favorite all time players. Right behind Dale Murphy for me ( I was a huge Braves fan as a kid and moved to San Diego as an adult).

We had the pleasure of watching him play when I lived in San Diego. We had season tix so we had an up close view of both him as a player and more importantly a first class human being. Sad day....
