Well, if by modern you mean percussion cap instead of flintlock, then modern it is. Also opting for rifling in the barrel as opposed to smoothbore. My piece started out as a Renegade, but after replacing and rebuilding (with a 30" Green Mountain barrel) and a maple stock, it no longer resembles a Renegade. Not as pretty as Lily, Lurker's flintlock, but pretty nonetheless.

50cal Uberti Hawken shooting 385gr Hornady Great Plains lead hollowpoint over 85gr of Pyrodex. Last year I used a 250gr sabot and never found the buck. So I will go big again with a load that will knock one down.
