Need a mag latch for a Remington 710

Have a friend who has a Remington 710 and his magazine latch broke off and he can not find a replacement. Any suggestions? I heard that Remington will only replace the whole assembly but am going to call them just the same. Was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and found either the actual part available, or know of a suitable replacement part. Please PM me if you have the answer. Thanks,

Called Remington, they are sending the latch free of charge. They said the cost of shipping is more than the price of the part so it is no charge. Don't quite understand the logic, but am certainly not looking a gift horse in the mouth and am grateful to Remington for their generosity, and business.
