Enjoying all the comments. Here's what my mess looks like. The wall was already opened up when I bought the house. There was a regular 32" door here originally but was removed for some reason and some of the studs removed. Wife wants pocket door so as you can guess that's what were doing. Still have hinged door and plan to use it in the pocket door frame. I've mocked up new framing and showing where the door would go.
