Besides the shooter, I would definitely have to give some credit to the bullet maker!

H-4895 has always been an excellent powder, and one of the few powders that than be used in literally hundreds of different cartridges.

For sure. Good components, load, barrel, glass, rifle work, trigger, and shooter. All apparently well matched to each other.

I'd like to give the shooter credit, but it depends on the competition. A lot of those benchrest rigs are basically vises you clamp your gun into. At that point, it's a matter of the gunsmith and load consistency.

What about this guys, not as far but s#@T, no bad for a 600 yard group.
    World Record Sub-Inch 600-Yard 6BR
    Terry Brady's Remarkable Record-Breaking Rifle
Other Guns of the Week >
At the Piedmont, NC, range, two shooters recently broke the 1" mark for the first time in registered 600-yard competition. Shooting a 6.5-284, Wolf Beuhner nailed a .960" group that earned him Piedmont's cash bounty for the first sub-inch group. Shortly thereafter, not to be outdone, Terry Brady eclipsed Wolf's mark with an amazing .860" group--a new IBS world record, pending certification. Terry's stellar .860" five-shot cluster is the equivalent of a 0.1433" group at 100 yards. Terry performed this feat with a "high-mileage" converted 6PPC, shooting a standard 6BR with factory Berger 105s. Terry proved that the "plain-vanilla" 6BR is still more than capable of setting world records. Terry's achievement, with off-the-shelf components in an older rifle, demonstrates just how accurate this cartridge can be. Well done,

That record has since been beaten TWICE!

    Rodney Wagner's IBS 5 shot group @ 600 yards - .349

Bart Sauter now holds the world record for 5 shots at 600 yards with a new IBS record of .282!!!
