New m1a scout question

I have a brand new never fired Springfield scout squad. I don't know how toot what to clean before firing it. I mean like the gas plug and operating rod etc. I have looked at YouTube but seems a little confusing. Any guides or videos and or advice/lessons appreciated

run a brass brush down the bore then a dry patch, shoot it get a pull through cleaning kit so asto not damage rifling at muzzle

You might also talk to Huckelberry75, or Deer Slayer(that cracks me up everytime I type that.LOL They have one and might be full of info. I know their both full of something.lol
