Oklahoma Sport Shooting is conducting the NRA pistol instructor class starting on 8/23/14.
This course consists of 16 hours of training. To enroll in this course you must first pass a Pre-Qualifying exam consisting of hands-on demonstrations of firearms knowledge Skills, and Attitude. In the Pre-Qualification, Inst. candidates will demo: Loading/Unloading, Clearing stoppages, Shooting an actual firearm, & and Instructor Interview.
Topics to be covered are: Pistol Knowledge and Safe Handling, Ammunition Knowledge and the Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting, Firing the First Shots for Students, Two-handed Standing and One-handed Standing Shooting Positions, Continuing Pistol Sports and Activities.
We take this course very seriously. There are some pay for certs classes out there, this is not one of them. We conduct a very comprehensive instructor development course. Everyone that passes our class must show the ability to spread proper pistol knowledge, skills, and attitude. Just ask anyone that has taken this course from us.
We are very flexible with our class schedule on the day of the class. We can run through all 16 hours from 8am-12am or we can come back the next day to finish. We can do both for people with varying time tables & commitments. We have two Training Counselors.
Seating is very limited, we keep our classes small for better instructor/student ratio.
Cost is $225 or $200 if prepaid.
