Oh wow!!! That’s a great buck!!! I really like your knife choice and ingenuity!
Yep, that is pretty slick on how ol' Dennis figured out how to load up that deer.......kinda got a feeling that wasn't his first rodeo.

Geez. That’s a hefty one! Great job. Was it the 243 WSSM that put the smack on him?Yes. He is a DMAP buck so he has to be weighed and a jaw pulled.
210 lbs field dressed.
I’ve been seeing a buck on my cams at night for awhile.

Sunday morning got out of the stand at 9:30 for a break. The big buck showed up 20 minutes later.
Decided to make it an all day sit on Monday hoping it would show up again. At first light I saw him on the other side of the field almost 1/2 mile away tending a doe. After awhile they wandered off into a wood lot.
Saw a few random small bucks cruising as the sun set. About 10 minutes before time was up he stepped out of the woods 125 yards away facing me. We had a stare down before he put his head down to feed giving time to get the rifle up. He turned enough to get a shot and he fell in 20 yards.
@mike miller knife ready to go to work.

After field dressing had to get him in the truck so put a snatch block on a corner tie down and used a nylon rope to slide him up a half sheet of plywood using the 4 wheeler. First time to try that technique and it worked great.

Well I got it done today. We have bigger antlered deer on our property but he is by far the most mature buck on there.
Seen him locked down with a doe. After watching them for just over an hour, I watched him breed her. Then a shot finally presented itself and at 244 yds, the Ruger #1 in 280 Rem. dropped him in his tracks. View attachment 181811 View attachment 181812 View attachment 181813
