Bought a 93 mark III with 4.6 Dohc that I am going to put in a 67 swb pickup. What mods can I do to this engine to produce more Hp before Install. Don't want a drag racer just a good peppy street ride. Looking to put maybe around 1 k in motor. Motor runs fine as it is.

Stick to just the bolt-ons - headers, exhaust, cold air intake: and in your case they will be pricey as they will have to be custom.
Spend money on good dynotune.
Mark VIII has very tall gears - just changing that will make it quite peppy :)

Supposed to be a pretty good engine, used after 96 in some f150's and mustangs.

If you are going to do anything internal look for an 8 bolt crank as yours is likely a 6 bolt to handle some extra power.

IMRC delete is another popular change http://www.classictiger.com/mustang/IAT-IMRC/IAT-IMRC.htm

May also look around http://svtperformance.com/ for some other upgrade idea's. But otherwise some of the defaults already suggested, headers, exhaust, intake. Basically the same block as what was used in the mustang cobra's though a few parts are different. http://www.proweldperformanceparts.com/id31.html

As for headers, anything here https://www.google.com/search?q=for...fficial&client=firefox-a&channel=np&source=hp should work, just have to decide if you want shorties or long tubes. What ever fits your app best is what you can use. Like I said, 4.6 is the same for quite a few years, from my understanding the cranks are interchangeable for quite a few years.

LOL, I understand. . . never ran anything that massive myself. Had a 91 camaro 5.0l stick in 97. . . took it up to 110 once on a country road. Was great for getting out of a busy intersection fast.

Have a 4.7l dodge dakota quad cab now and it's pretty much enough for my needs. You have a lot of options available with that engine being used in the mustangs and f150's as well. It's easy to go mild or wild with the more info you have the better you can decide. I am personally a little bit here and little there type of person. My pickup has the 5 speed auto and 3.55 rear end. . . with a cotton gause air filter and removing the clutch fan I can get 23 average running 70 on the highway and driving around town about 50% of the time. Full highway I can go up to around 25 plus mpg.
