Old shotgun roll crimp

Can the old style (works on paper hulls) roll crimp dies for shot shells be used on a plastic hull? This is the type that you would use in a drillpress.

Yes! This will be for an 8g. Grandpa has one he shoots about once a year and his paper hulls are about exhausted. He as either 50 or 100 converted industrial hulls and I was not sure if the same crimp roller will work. I never have reloaded shot shells.

I got that one for 12 gauge. I'm still learning how to use it, but it seems easy enough.

Could you maybe come up with a paper hull and test to see if it works the same? I have a few in 12g kicking around if you need one. I'm not far from Blanchard (hopefully closing on a house SW edge of town there next week if stupid lender gets her stuff together )

You'd have to provide one. I haven't seen a paper hull in many many years. I think the last one I saw was a .410.
