Bought an old Single Shot 12g from a fellow member. 1st photo. I bought it for another barn, I paint them mat black and they are hard to see in the daylight or lights on. Have to know where they hang. Got it sanded, primed and painted. Then at lunch got curious about it. Little research and was surprised at its age. They “Stevens” mfg them from 1903 to 1915. Stevens Fully Guaranteed Single Gun. Old as hell, not worth much but shoots perfect and will eject a spent shell 4 ft over my shoulder. Vermin killer is its duty. Thanks @Cowboy777.

Never been an issue. Most of them hang behind a wood pole or on a nail along a wall support.
My barn guns all hang from a nail in a corner.
Barrels covered with a piece of thin plastic secured with a rubber band.
We have horrible issues with mud daubers.
Anything with a hole 1/4” or bigger in diameter will have mud in it by the end of summer.
