I was reminded of recent videos watched explaining political, diplomatic reasons for Japanese leaderships’ decision to sneak attack U.S. Navy ships and airplanes, on this date. Wondered what survivors, civilians, military and politicians in Japan thought in the days after Atomic bombs fell on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
It's sad on my part, but I came in to work this morning and was wondering why the flag was at half staffed. Should never be forgotten
Well, in my case, I knew of the date and event, but when I saw flags at half staff, I questioned myself why.
As a kid I remember my mom taking us boys to the theatre to watch the new movie, Tora, Tora, Tora…..younger generation knows very little about the imperialism of Japan, none of the young bucks at work today even mentioned Pearl Harbor, very sad!

I saw a gentleman on the news this evening who was there. He is 103. When asked how many times he was gonna return to the memorial he said "As many times as I can." He was WAY more gracious than I would have been to that reporter. What a disrespectful thing to say to a 103 year old man.
Remember how we paid the bastards back a few years later.........now we just fight wars for 15 years or so in the kindest and gentlest way possible rather then putting the assholes back into the pre stone age
The reporter was trying to say, "isn't it time to forget and move on." Nobody I've ever known who was alive then ever came close to forgetting, maybe forgiving, but you don't forget, and there is nothing wrong with that.
