Rack explodes while rattling

I have a friend who does all his rattling with a real set of antlers he took off a previous kill. He was using them this weekend on one of the real cold mornings and the rack exploded in his hands sending pieces bouncing everywhere.

Anyone else ever heard of anything like this?

No not me. I use an old set of horns from seven or eight years ago and they seem to work pretty good. Until I hit myself in the fingers when they are numb from cold. Then I wish they would exploded.

Never heard of that either. Went to a "pack-rack" this year because it's much more compact and if you accidentally sit down on it, it hurts a whole lot less.

Seems to work okay, but I'm not too sure it's as good as the real thing.

I have used old racks quite a bit and never had one break.

The pack racks are great, I used mine right up until I lost it and wont think twice about getting another one.
