Hey Jack. What would it take for you to put on an USPSA RO class? If you are interested, I can think of about fifteen people that would be interested.

There are about 5 people certified to teach USPSA RO in the whole 50 states; I'm not one. The people that do teach USPSA must travel around the country, which adds significantly to the cost to each student to take the class. USPSA covers the air fare, but the host club covers local hotel, meals, car rental, etc. USPSA is a two day class, which adds to the cost to both student & instructor.

IDPA does it differently, with Safety Officer Instructors in most every state in which it has a local club. Often there are multiple instructors in a given state, so they do not have to hop an airplane to teach a class. Oklahoma has two SOI's, myself & glocktogo. It makes IDPA SO classes more available and less costly to the student.

I hope the OK Section will go with the idea of offering RO at least every other year. There first must be enough demand to produce enough students to make the class cost effective, for both USPSA national and the local club.
