Sort of. Who are the 35% idiots? And consider this gem from lower down in Rasmussen's article: "Seventeen percent (17%) believe there is too much individual freedom in the United States today." Huh?

You have to understand there are a lot of idiots in the world. In terms of polling 65% is a slam dunk!

Universal background checks sound much better to the uninformed citizen. That is why the anti's are going to push it hard.

Step 1. Implement universal background checks... "To keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill and felons. Who could be against that?"

Step 2. After a few years they will declare that it is not working because there are private FTF sales going on illegally. "The only solution is to require all firearms in private hands to be registered"

Step 3. After some mass shooting or other excuse, a call for confiscation - "Turn them in Mr. and Mrs. America. You have xxx days until you are a felon."

Unfortunately Mr Obama has his own polls that show that the vast majority of Americans favor common sense gun laws. Common sense of course being universal gun checks, assault weapon and hi cap mag bans etc.

I wonder how many liberals they had to poll before getting the numbers he loves to shove down our throats?
