My preference would be a bolt action savage with the accutrigger. They are very durable and accurate. I have loved every savage I have owned. especially the ones that had the accutrigger.

I had a Marlin 883SS that would shoot 5/8" 5 shot groups at 100yds with preferred fodder. It was stainless with a laminate stock, so it was corrosion resistant and durable. I mounted a Baush & Lomb Elite 3000 3-9X40 on it and probably never should've sold it. :(

I also have a Marlin stainless 22 mag. Nothing fancy, but the price was good and it is a great shooter.
