Removing the green stuff from brass fittings on leather holster.

Just bought a nice leather holster for my LATHI . How do I get this crud off & keep it off. I have never had to deal with it before. Used nylon brush in Dremel to remove oxidation on brass.

Soft clean toothbrush.

A little saddle soap too.

It should wipe off but it will be stiff in places. Fortunately, when it comes off the brass is usually kind of shiny where it was. Clean up edges with a brush stiff enough to do the job but soft enough to not mark the leather.

Ivory bar soap wet with toothbrush.

I use Black Rock Leather N-Rich, it seems to remove verdigris and does wonders for leather holsters without making them soft or lose shape.
Can buy online (amazon, etc) but I get mine at Mock Bros. Saddlery at 177 West Ave. exit off hwy. 412 west of Sand Springs. A small jar lasts me a long time.

Dremel worked great low speed took oxidation did not mark the leather.

Verdigris usually means the leather has been over-oiled. Dawn works very well with a toothbrush. Air dry and don't reapply any oils.

This holster is probably 70 years old . Leather is still in very good shape . I in my ignorance oiled around the brass.

Get some Flitz metal polish.
