I was going by the sideplate appearance more than anything else. Actually having the revolver in hand to turn it about for a look-see is obviously a much better situation.
I have had a couple of guys that are knowledgeable look at it, they say the finish is original. I got this on a whim, but don't think it's for me. Even more so now that my Son just told me he needs some work done on his truck.

I know what you mean, and you questioned what I did. They said, and I not sure I understand this, but it was the type of holster and that is a rub(???????????) All the other lettering is sharp and crisp. Not sure on their knowledge though, I took their word on the gun. Today I took the grips off, they are not numbered to the gun. However the cylinder and frame is a match. I will be the first to say, I am out of my league on this gun.
