Shooting a snake in town.

Just curious if it is legal to shoot a rattler in my back yard if the need arises. I grew up in a very rural area, but now I am in edmond. If I do shoot, am I supposed to call the edmond PD.

If I were young and nimble, I'd go after him him with a shovel. Times being what they are, I'd shoot him and put him in the dumpster behind the 7/11.

I'm pretty sure it would be frowned upon by the edmond pd. I would go with the shovel or pellet gun ideas.
