Anyone have advice for 12ga slug selection for a 24" rifled slug barrel? This will be my first time hunting with a slug gun. Most shots should be in the 60-120yd range.
The rounds using a sabot will be what your looking for. Since they come in boxes of 5, you will probably want to pick up several different styles and see which your gun likes for the best accuracy.
I like the Hornady SST's. Not sure if they'll work for you, but my 870 likes em. I feel comfortable at 100 us with them, but rarely get to pull the trigger any more than 30 where I hunt.
The Remington Accutips in either the 2 3/4" or 3" version shoot quite well in the 12 ga. and very well in the 20 ga.. I shoot an H&R Ultra Slug gun that I accurized, and it shoots 3 shot groups well under 2" at 100 yds. and 3" or less at 200 yds..
