Picked up a 27-2 ssn N35548 can someone date this for me it has the early diamond grips. Thank you.

Saw on another forum, N1 to N60000 were from 1970 to 1972.
Don't have a reference book in front of me at this time.

Pg 488 of SCSW4 indicates the N300000 numbers were produced 1975-1976.

From what i can tell in my SCSW it would likely be 1970-1972 After that the numbers go from NXXXXX to N1XXXXX, etc.

This one is a three screw pinned and recessed. Has the diamond on the grip.

‘Most’ of the diamond grips were gone in 1968. Have you taken the grips off to see if there is an indication that they match the gun? Not all S&W records are completely accurate so sometimes you just have to piece the story or history of a gun together.
