Snakes are out!

I've had several beagles snake bit, never seen the snake but dogs nose , mouth swollen. Gave them benadryl and swelling usually gone in a few hrs.

We were at claremore lake fishing when this guy showed up. He was a little cold..

The dreaded brown bodied finger snuggler!

He is probably enjoying the warmth coming from the hand, even with the glove on.

Leg is no longer swollen to twice its normal size.
Glad we're over the hump.

Yeppers...

...Colorado does have rattlesnakes. I'm not an expert on them, but there is also a breed of rattler called a "Timber Rattlesnake."

Timbers are what I'm used to, having moved here from GA. We grow them big. I think they are the rattler with the widest habitat range in the US. This one was right at 5 feet long. 19 rattles. Midsection was as big around as my forearm.

He (or maybe was a she) was tasty, too.
