well im ready for the ice to melt on the lakes im getting low on some slabs and im nuts about crappie fishing any one had a chance to go lately i know on christmas eve morning and the tuesday after christmas between the two days i put up almost 17lbs of crappie meat

Me and one of my fishing buddies was discussing crappie fishing yesterday. With the temps warming up next week and what they think will be the rest of the month we're getting geared up to go hit one of our honeyholes.

I need to get into this. Last year on Kaw, we did really good. Still have some bags of fish to eat.
Normally its not that good,(for me) but then again, I'm not a crappie expert like some.
I've always been a hit or miss type of crappie fisherman.
We've had a couple of the professional crappie tournaments on Kaw in the last few years. Haven't seen their rigs, but a buddy watched them one day and its amazing how they rig up to catch them with "spider rigs" and so on.
I don't even know what a "spider rig" is, but it sounds good.

So go to the boathouses and sit with the old dudes fishing for crappie inside the heated docks.
