Springfield GI models DON'T have lowered and flared ejection ports, flared mag wells, 3 dot sights, or polished feed ramps and they have vertical slide serrations.

MilSpec models have everything listed above and have slanted slide serrations.

I got the basic GI model so that I could do the improvements I wanted to do by myself as a learning experience.

SA makes a fine 1911, however, if you can afford it, look heavily at the Kimbers. I have talked bad about them in the past, but looking at them, they arent terribly overpriced.
