Was there a .22 caliber SKS reproduction?

I was shooting the breeze with a gun buddy this morning,,,
He and I text every now and then.

I mentioned that I've been fighting the urge to buy an SKS,,,
It's really the only semi-auto (or bolt for that matter) Mil-surp I crave.

He said that since I'm such a .22 rimfire devotee,,,
I should try and find one of the repro's,,,
I said, "What repro"?

He did admit that he didn't know the manufacturer,,,
He's absolutely positive there was one made,,,
He swears he has seen one on the web.

I think he is talking about an SKS that has been converted with a kit,,,
I've read about that kit on several different gun forums,,,
Although I've never communicated with an owner.

But just on the off chance he's not hallucinating,,,
Does anyone know of a repro .22LR SKS?

Like I need another danged .22 rifle,,,

Not an sks, but I know they have some AK's in dedicated .22 and also conversion kits for the AK's. But the conversion kits don't work worth a flip for the AK's. I imagine if there is a conversion kit for the sks's functionality probably isn't the best.
