Thanks for the info. But I wouldnt plan on taking the pistol out of the locked case, the only time I would do that was if I was at home. Is that still illegal?

What if I was to keep a loaded magazine locked in the little safe, but without it being inserted into the pistol?

I will eventually get my ccw, but I haven't yet.

No exceptions,,,
If the gun is loaded,,,
You must have a permit,,,
Even if it's in a locked box in your trunk.

If the gun is not loaded,,,
Then you are simply "transporting" a gun.

I do believe that in Oklahoma,,,
A loaded magazine beside the gun is transporting.

Do not take that for gospel though,,,
I'm no lawyer but it's the rule I operate under.

Why don't you just get your permit though,,,
5-year Application = $100.00,,,
The required class = $65.00,,,
Passport photos = $10.00,,,
Fingerprint fees = $20.00.

Total cost is about $195.00 for a 5-year permit,,,
Then you can carry it in a case loaded with no problems.

Problem solved. :yelclap:

^ This.

If you can afford the weapon and a way to secure it you should be able to get licensed.

cannot have a loaded gun in your car w/o an OK Handgun License.

Can have a gun loaded or not in safe or not in your home or business.

you can have a loaded mag in the car beside a unloaded gun. there is no wording in Title 21 stating a distance or so many feet that the loaded mag and unloaded gun must be apart.

The only way I know that you can have a loaded gun in a vehicle without a license is if you are in someone's car and they have a license. Just like you can carry a loaded gun in someone's house or place of business with their permission...
