Thanks for the post . Interesting !! Have always loved the look and feel of the 30-30. Used Dads when I was a kid and bought my son one about 5 years ago and if he does not go hunting with me I usually take his gun... Other wise I am stuck with my 30.06, wait I love that one too lol. Win- Win

My family has an affinity for the .30-30. I have my great-granddad's 94 that was made in 95....1895. Lot's of heroic stories about that gun so it has a special place in the collection.
I also shoot a Contender with a 14" .30-30 barrel. Fun! And....may daughter used a .30-30 offspring, the 7-30 Waters out of a Contender to take the deer shown at the left.

My first centerfire rifle was a Marlin Glenfield 30-30 I bought with my own money when I was fifteen.

It will be the one I still have when they bury me.

I've been thinking about building a different rifle for deer hunting this year but that old 30-30 has me wanting to take it out to the woods again.
