If I remember correctly, the 4 bore cartridges weigh 1 1/4 pounds a piece. Frederick Courtenay was packing a two bore front stuffer launching round lead balls when he first started his ivory hunting career in the late 1800s. Only thing worse than tearing a swathe through a herd of tuskers with that would being the poor shmuck who has to carry all the spare ammo.
