The music world lost a great one yesterday.

Levon Helm, drummer and lead singer of the The Band, died yesterday after a long battle with throat cancer. After his first round of treatments the doctors told him he'd never talk again, let alone sing. So he naturally recorded two studio albums and a live record, and each won a Grammy. Dirt Farmer is one of my favorite albums ever. He was 71.
