Well, I ran with iron sights only (milsurp Matech BUIS)...would that count to make a standard 16" AR fall into a somewhat-milsurp category? Might have more people join up...

I would suggest just doing a Run&Gun in general and then add classifications, IE: gamer, milsurp, modern-auto, lever, flintlock, etc. Don't make it exculsionary.
