I need some U.S. made AK magazines for compliance parts, but I've only used foreign mil-surp so far. No experience with the American products at all.
Can anyone recommend any brand or type of U.S. 922 compliant magazines ?
I'm only concerned with legality and function.

Thanks,

JC

Using a mag as a compliant part is a bad idea. It's too easy to get to 6 parts(or 5 if it's milled) with internal parts. Steve

What he said. Either a FCG or a set of furniture would be a one shot thing and you'd be legal with any mag. Not hugely expensive, and no rocket science is involved.

It would help if we knew what US parts are currently in the rifle. If the trigger parts are already US made that pretty much leaves you with furniture. Does it have a threaded barrel with a brake of some sort? A US made slant brake shouldn't be hard to come by and they are pretty cheap usually. Even a gas piston shouldn't be that hard to install.

Just about any of it would cost less than a decent quantity of US magazines.

Generally the US parts found on a typical AK are:
Trigger
Hammer
Disconnector
Buttstock
Pistol Grip
Handguards
Muzzle Brake
Gas Piston
Receiver
