The British serial killer called "the Yorkshire Ripper" died of COVID-19 at a hospital in Durham, England, early Friday morning after refusing medical treatment for the virus.
Peter Sutcliffe, 74, killed 13 women in the north of England between 1975 and 1980.
He spent 32 years at a high security mental hospital before being transferred to a prison to serve multiple life sentences.
The son of one victim told reporters:
"Good riddance. Who'd have thought coronavirus could produce at least one happy ending?"
